Disconnect QuickBooks Integration
Last updated: April 22, 2026
The PV Letters QuickBooks integration is an internal tool operated by PV Letters PLLC and connects only to the company's own QuickBooks Online account. If you are an authorized administrator and need to fully disconnect the integration, follow the steps below.
How to Disconnect
There are two ways to revoke the integration's access to your QuickBooks Online account:
Option 1 — Disconnect from within QuickBooks Online (recommended)
- Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account at qbo.intuit.com.
- Navigate to Apps → Connected apps.
- Locate "PV Letters Internal Audit" in the list of connected apps.
- Click Disconnect and confirm.
This action immediately revokes the app's OAuth refresh token at Intuit. Subsequent API calls from the integration will fail authorization and the integration will no longer be able to retrieve any data from your QuickBooks account.
Option 2 — Disconnect from within the integration
Authorized operators of the integration can run the built-in disconnect() function, which calls Intuit's OAuth revocation endpoint and then clears the locally cached authentication tokens and encryption key. This produces the same end state as Option 1.
What Happens to Your Data After Disconnection
- OAuth tokens: the locally cached refresh token is deleted immediately on disconnection. Without it, the integration cannot request new access tokens from Intuit.
- Encryption key: the AES key that protected the locally stored refresh token is also removed.
- Cached data: the integration does not maintain a persistent copy of QuickBooks customer records, invoices, or transactions. Data retrieved during a session is held in memory for the duration of that session and is not written to disk.
- Audit logs: operational logs (request timestamps, HTTP status codes, Intuit trace IDs) are retained for up to 14 days for troubleshooting purposes. These logs do not contain QuickBooks customer data or credentials; they contain only operational metadata.
- Derived reports: analyses produced by the integration (e.g. revenue reconciliation worksheets) remain in the files where they were saved by the operator. If you wish these files to be removed, contact the address below.
Reconnecting
If you later wish to reconnect the integration, see the Connect/Reconnect page.
